DISNEY’S FLUBBER 1997

DISNEY’S FLUBBER WAS RELEASED ON NOVEMBER 26TH 1997

DISNEY’S 1997 LIVE ACTION FLUBBER IS ABOUT PROFESSOR PHILLIP BRAINARD ( ROBIN WILLAMS) AN ABSENT MIINDED PROFESSOR WORKS WITH HIS ROBOT ASSISTENT WEEBLO ( JODY BENSON) trying to create a substance that’s a new source of energy and that will save Medfield Carlisle, is the dean. He has missed his wedding twice, and on the afternoon

of his third wedding, Brainard accidentally creates Flubber, which allows objects to fly through the air. It behaves like rubber, so he calls it Flubber (Flying Rubber). When he misses the third wedding, he tries to explain it to Sara by demonstrating Flubber, but he falls out a window and Sara angrily breaks up with him and begins seeing Wilson Croft (Christopher McDonald), a professor from another college and the remake’s version of Alonzo Hawk.

Meanwhile, Brainard creates a flying car to win Sara back and tries to figure out ways to control the Flubber. He comes up with an idea to use the Flubber to help the Medfield basketball team win the championship, which they do, but he doesn’t win Sara’s heart back. Back at the house, he explains to Weebo that he’s absent-minded because he’s in love with Sara and Weebo records him saying it. After this, he gives up, admitting that Sara deserves someone better than him. Weebo goes to Sara’s house to prove it to her. Brainard then wakes up to see her standing above him and she kisses him.

At the same time, a rich and corrupt businessman named Chester Hoenicker (Raymond J. Barry) wants Philip to pass his failing son Bennett (Wil Wheaton), but he soon takes an interest in Flubber after hearing about it from his flunkies Smith (Clancy Brown) and Wesson (Ted Levine). Smith and Wesson steal the Flubber and destroy Weebo in the process. Brainard and Sara get the Flubber back in a battle.

At last, Flubber is finally free, by being used as a silly weapon to defeat Wilson’s henchmen. But then, Flubber is accidentally swallowed by Wilson, making him suffer from “inside” his body to the outside, making him “dancing”, being ticklish, laughing, and moving around. Inside him, Flubber makes a short “body controlling awkward dancing/ticklish sensation” “journey”, through his digestive system, which makes him suffer and laugh every uncontrollably. Once Flubber wants to get out of his system, Wilson farts loudly and Flubber gets out of his body (like a bullet), laughing, and flying away. After that, Wilson looks at the others (Doctor and Sara) and faints, exhausted, half-dead. Brainard and Sara, who are shocked to see the effect of swallowing Flubber,

go out of the room, free and victorious.

Philip saves Medfield College from closure with Flubber. Philip and Sara finally get married through a video screen (like Skype) while Brainard makes an experiment and blows the house out. Once they got married, the “Just Married-Couple” flies away with the autocar, Flubber and with Weebo’s daughter, Weebette, in the trunk.

auditorium in the middle of Principal Mazur’s speech, creating a small concert where Max performs, while dressed as the pop singer Powerline. The performance succeeds in making Max a school celebrity and impressing his love interest, Roxanne, but he, P.J., and Bobby are sent to Mazur’s office. While waiting outside of the office, Roxanne speaks with Max and accepts his offer to go with him to her best friend Stacey’s party where Powerline’s concert will be viewed live, on Pay-per-view. However, Mazur warns Goofy that Max’s behavior may result in him facing capital punishment.

Oblivious to Max’s plans with Roxanne and fearing for his son’s future, Goofy decides to take Max on a fishing trip from the city Spoonerville, in their home state of Ohio to Lake Destiny, Idaho, following a cross-country map route he and his father took years ago in the 1960s. Before they leave town, Max manages to stop by Roxanne’s house to call off their date, but when the heartbroken Roxanne mentions going with someone else, Max panics and instead fabricates a story about his father knowing Powerline, telling her he will be on stage at the concert.

Despite his son’s objections, Goofy plans his own trip, with initially disastrous results. Max angrily hurts his father’s feelings after Goofy inadvertently humiliates Max at an opossum-based theme park. Later, Pete and P.J. happen to meet up with them while camping by a lake. While P.J. informs Max of how all their peers back

P.J. happen to meet up with them while camping by a lake. While P.J. informs Max of how all their peers back home anticipate seeing him onstage at the Powerline concert, Pete urges Goofy to keep Max under control. Goofy takes his son fishing and shows him the Perfect Cast fishing technique, accidentally luring Bigfoot to their camp. Pete and P.J. escape, forcing Goofy and Max to spend the night with Bigfoot. That night, while Goofy sleeps, Max alters the map’s route to Los Angeles, where the concert is taking place.

The next morning, Goofy decides to make Max the navigator of the trip. The two go to different locations that satisfy both of them. Eventually, they stop by a motel where they meet Pete and P.J. again. When Pete overhears a conversation between the boys, he tells Goofy that Max has tricked him into traveling to Los Angeles. The next day, Goofy and Max come to a junction: one leading to Idaho, the other to California. Max chooses the route to California, making a frustrated Goofy stop the car at the Grand Canyon and storm off. With the brake loose, the car drives off on its own; Goofy and Max chase after it and end up in the Colorado River. After a heated argument, Goofy says no matter how old Max gets he will always be his son, and the two finally reconcile with each other. After learning of Max’s promise to Roxanne, Goofy decides to take him to the concert in Los Angeles. The two nearly plummet to their deaths down a waterfall, but Max saves Goofy using the Perfect Cast technique.

Goofy and Max arrive at the concert, and while attempting to sneak backstage, they end up onstage and dance with Powerline, watched by Pete, P.J., and Roxanne on separate televisions. Meanwhile, Bobby falls in love with Roxanne’s best friend Stacey. Goofy and Max later return to Roxanne’s house in their damaged car. Max tells the truth to Roxanne, though she accepts it and admits she always had feelings for him, ever since the first time she ever heard him utter his father’s trademark laugh; thus, a relationship starts between them. Goofy’s car suddenly explodes because of the damage it had sustained, ejecting Goofy in the process, who then falls through the porch roof of Roxanne’s house, and Max introduces him to Roxanne. The score for A Goofy Movie was provided by Carter Burwell.[20] Burwell was the primary composer; after he had recorded his score with Shirley Walker orchestrating and conducting, Don Davis was hired to rework his score rather than write a completely new one. Burwell later wrote: “My score had relied somewhat on unusual instrumentation – banjo, percussion and choir for example – and Disney wanted the sweeping scale and familiar affect of symphonic score”.[21] Davis is credited with “additional music” on the movie and the soundtrack album. The songs “I 2 I” and “Stand Out” were performed by R&B singer Tevin Campbell, while “After Today”, “On the Open Road”, and “Nobody Else But You” were performed by Bill Farmer and Aaron Lohr. The soundtrack album for A Goofy Movie was released by Walt Disney Records on March 18, 1995.[22] Mitchel Musso covered the song “Stand Out” for the DisneyMania 7 album, which was released on March 9, 2010. he film was first released on VHS and LaserDisc by Walt Disney Home Video in the United States and Canada on September 6, 1995. A direct-to-video sequel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame II, was released in 2002. A darker, Gothic stage adaption of the film was re-written and directed by James Lapine and produced by Walt Disney Theatrical in Berlin, Germany as Der Glöckner von Notre Dame that ran from 1999 to 2002.

The story begins one night in Paris, France where a group of Gypsies are sneaking into Paris, but are captured by Judge Claude Frollo, but one escapes with her baby son, which Frollo thinks are stolen goods. The chase ends at the Notre Dame Cathedral, where Frollo breaks the woman’s neck, and sees her baby, who has a deformed look. He goes to a nearby well to kill him, but is stopped by the Archdeacon. Who tells him he must raise the child as his own to make up for killing the baby’s mother. Frollo reluctantly accepts, but he doesn’t want him to be in his home, so he keeps him at the Cathedral’s rooftop, and made him the bell ringer. Frollo named the child Quasimodo as a way to insult his “half formed” appearance.

20 years later, Quasimodo is lonely due to the only human he’s ever interacted with being his “master” Frollo. Quasimodo talks with the Gargoyles, who tell him to go to the annual “Festival of Fools.” Quasimodo accepts, but is stopped by Frollo. Frollo tells him that the world is very cruel, and won’t understand his monster appearance. However, Quasimodo plans to go anyway in disguise so Frollo (who attends the Festival annually) won’t recognize him.

Captain Phoebus returns to the City, and speaks with Frollo about the Gypsy problem, and that Frollo has been killing them, but there’s more and more, and wants to find their home base to end the problem for good. Both Frollo and Phoebus go to the festival.

At the festival, Quasimodo meets Esmeralda, who thinks his ugly look is a mask. Esmeralda later dances to the initial disgust of Frollo, but later develops feelings for her when she dances right in his face. She brings Quasimodo on stage so he can potentially be crowned “The King of Fools.” He gets it, and everyone loves him for it. However, one of the guards throws a tomato at him, so everyone ties him down, and throws food at him. Quasimodo cries to Frollo to help him, but Frollo tells Phoebus to let it continue so Quasimodo can learn a lesson. Esmeralda puts an end to it, to the anger of Frollo, and she gets caught at the Church after meeting Phoebus, who claims she called for Sanctuary meaning the law can’t arrest her. Frollo is angered, but the Archdeacon tells him to leave.

She meets Quasimodo properly, and the two bond, and Quasimodo helps her escape. Once Frollo hears of her escape, he goes crazy and burns Paris looking for her. Frollo then learns that Quasimodo helped her escape, and tells him that he found the Gypsy hideout, and plans to kill them all. Quasimodo and Phoebus plan to get there before Frollo, and warn them all. They find it, but they unintentionally led Frollo there. Esmeralda is about to be executed, but Quasimodo breaks free of his chains, and saves her. A big battle erupts, and it ends with Frollo breaking into the Cathedral to the protest of the Archdeacon who Frollo doesn’t care for anymore. Frollo tries to kill both Quasimodo and Esmeralda, and Frollo admits to Quasimodo that he killed his mother, and he says he’ll do what he should have done 20 years ago. However, he falls with Quasimodo saving him, but Frollo swings to another Gargoyle pillar to kill the two, but he falls to his death.

It’s all over, and the people love Quasimodo, and Esmeralda marries Phoebus.

TIM BURTON THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS WAS RELEASD ON OCTOBER 29TH 1993

The Nightmare Before Christmas, often promoted as Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, is a 1993 American stop-motion musical dark fantasy film directed by Henry Selick and produced/co-written by Tim Burton. It tells the story of Jack Skellington, a being from “Halloween Town” who opens a portal to “Christmas Town” and decides to celebrate the holiday. Danny Elfman wrote the film score and provided Jack’s singing voice, as well as other minor characters. The remaining principal voice cast includes Chris SarandonCatherine O’Hara, William Hickey, Ken Page, and Glenn Shadix.

The Nightmare Before Christmas originated in a poem written by Tim Burton in 1982, while he was working as a Disney animator. With the success of Vincent in the same year, Disney started to consider developing The Nightmare Before Christmas as either a short film or 30-minute television special. Over the years, Burton’s thoughts regularly returned to the project, and in 1990, Burton and Disney made a development deal. Production started in July 1991 in San FranciscoWalt Disney Studios initially released the film through Touchstone Pictures because the studio believed the film would be “too dark and scary for kids”. This happened in the original 1993 release only, as Walt Disney Pictures owned the movie since its 3D reissue.

The Nightmare Before Christmas was met with critical and financial success. Disney has reissued the film annually under their Disney Digital 3-D format since 2006, being the first stop-motion animated feature to be entirely converted to 3-D.

Halloween Town, is a dream world filled with citizens such as deformed monsters, ghosts, ghouls, goblins, vampires, werewolves, and witches. Jack Skellington (“The Pumpkin King”) leads them in a frightful celebration every Halloween, but he has grown tired of the same routine year after year. Wandering in the forest outside the town center, he accidentally opens a portal to “Christmas Town.” Impressed by the feeling and style of Christmas, Jack presents his findings and his (somewhat limited) understanding of the festivities to the Halloween Town residents. They fail to grasp his meaning and compare everything he says to their idea of Halloween. He reluctantly decides to play along and announces that they will take over Christmas.

Jack’s obsession with Christmas leads him to usurp the role of Santa Claus. Every resident is assigned a task, while Sally, a rag doll woman who is created by the town’s mad scientist, begins to feel a romantic attraction towards Jack. However, she alone fears that his plans will become disastrous. Jack assigns Lock, Shock, and Barrel a trio of mischievous children, to abduct Santa and bring him back to Halloween Town. Against Jack’s wishes and largely for their amusement, the trio deliver Santa to Oogie Boogie, a gambling-addict bogeyman who plots to play a game with Santa’s life at stake.

Christmas Eve arrives and Sally attempts to stop Jack with fog, but he embarks into the sky on a coffin-like sleigh pulled by skeletal reindeer, guided by the glowing nose of his ghost dog Zero. He begins to deliver presents to children around the world, but the gifts (shrunken heads, Christmas tree-eating snakes, etc.) only terrify the recipients. Jack is believed to be an imposter attempting to imitate Santa, and the military goes on alert to blast him out of the sky. The sleigh is shot down and he is presumed dead by Halloween Town’s citizens, but in fact he has survived the crash, landing in a cemetery. Although he is depressed by the failure of his plan, he quickly regains his old spirit, having come up with new ideas for next Halloween. He then rushes back home to rescue Santa and put things right.

Meanwhile, Sally attempts to free Santa, but is captured by Oogie. Jack slips into the lair and frees them, then angrily confronts Oogie. Almost immediately, Oogie springs a surprise trap on Jack by stomping a spider-shaped button. Some metal playing cards pop up, notably the Kings of each suit, but their swords begin to spin madly. Oogie is able to outrun the swords, but Jack is able to follow suit by twisting and contorting his body around the swords. Oogie then hits another button, and three robotic cowboys with skulls for heads fire revolvers at Jack, but he merely jumps on top of the arm of the robots and balances himself out. Oogie realizes he himself is getting too close to the line of fire. He lunges for a third button and hits it, but his sack begins to unravel. The button Oogie hit sends a giant buzzsaw with a skeleton stuck on it towards Jack. He jumps off the robot cowboy arms just in time. Oogie flings himself on top of the spinning claw, trying to flee. Jack, however, angrily yanks on the loose thread, which unravels Oogie’s outer covering, spilling out all the bugs that live inside him. A majority of the bugs proceeds to fall into the lava vat, where Sally and Santa were supposed to fall in, while others managing to evade destruction.

With Oogie gone, Santa reprimands Jack before setting off to deliver the right presents to the world’s children. He makes snow fall over Halloween Town to show that there are no hard feelings between himself and Jack; the townspeople are confused by the snow at first, but soon begin to play happily in it. After seeing the doctor with his new creation, Jack spots Sally heading out to the graveyard and follows her there. After Sally comes to short stop on top of the graveyard’s big hill, Jack reveals that he is just as strongly romantically attracted to Sally as she is to him. As they admit their love, they embrace each other and they kiss under the full moon in the cemetery.

Meanwhile, in an unknown part of the castle (through a secret door in the West Wing), an enormous pipe organ is playing very creepy music while his minion, Fife, a small piccolo applauds. The organ is Forte, the court composer for the musicians during his human years. The organ player though is not in the mood to be mortal again, so he decides to figure a way for the beast to steer clear of falling in love with Belle. He believes that “humanity is overrated” and that he has more use and power in his enchanted form.

He tells Fife that he has written a solo for a piccolo in his opera, which persuades Fife to aid him in breaking up the merriment between Belle and Beast. Fife manages to interrupt Belle and Beast’s skating, and when Belle makes a snow angel, Beast sees his “angel” as a “shadow of a monster”, angrily destroys the “snow angel” he just made out of rage and leaves in fury and depression, leaving Belle demotivated and guilty that she angered the Beast.

Believing that Christmas will brighten Beast’s mood, Belle creates a wonderful new book for him, and with a little persuasion for Cogsworth, Christmas is officially being prepared. The gang goes to the highest tower in the castle, which serves as a storage room for old decorations. In one of them, lies Angelique with a number of other animated baubles, who once served as the Royal Decorator. However, she is not pleased to hear about Christmas, arguing that she will not raise her hopes again in a belief that they could all get together in celebration, only to have them destroyed by Beast’s foul temper and hatred for the holiday. Belle sings to them about how “hope is the greatest gift”, saying that there is always hope, even for breaking the spell, and there will “always be a time when the world is filled with peace and love”. Eventually, Angelique reluctantly agrees.

However, Fife has been overhearing all this and rushes off to tell Forte. When Beast finds out, he is not at all pleased. Forte plays along, saying that “the girl doesn’t care how you feel about Christmas” and proceeds to manipulate him into believing that Belle is insensitive towards his feelings, separating the two even more. Beast reflects on his past: Christmas was the day he was most selfish and spoiled, and it was on that day, the Enchantress put the spell on him and the castle.

Belle enters the boiler room and meets a Yiddish-accented Axe (Jeff Bennett), head of the boiler room. She tells him she needs a Yule Log, and he tells her to help herself. Beast finds her and demands to know what is going on. She explains that it is a great tradition: “one log is chosen, then everyone in the house touches it, and makes a Christmas wish”. Beast, however, claims that wishes are stupid and bellows at Belle, “You made a Christmas wish last year! Is this what you wished for?!” He shouts that she has no idea what it is to be a true prisoner, but she knows all too well. Finally, he forbids Christmas and storms out.

Belle will not give up, and concludes that they will have Christmas with or without Beast, but not before sending him her gift, the storybook. Belle and Chip take Axe with them to go look for a Christmas tree, but none on the grounds are very promising, due to the grounds having rather small and underwhelming trees. Beast finds his gift, but Lumiere will not allow him to open it as it is not yet Christmas. He explains that everyone understands how Beast feels about the holiday, but giving a gift to another is a way of saying “I care about you”. Beast gets in the mood, and demands Forte to compose a song as a present, who agrees unhappily. When he leaves, Forte puts his plans in motion, and plays beautiful music, attracting Belle to his room. Forte quickly manipulates the situation, telling her that the tree has always been Beast’s favorite part of Christmas, and that she would find a much better tree lies in the Black Forest, the woods outside the castle.

Getting the tree would break Belle’s promise never to leave the castle, but she wants to make Beast happy, so she agrees to go, taking Chip and Axe. Forte orders Fife “to make sure they don’t come back”. Beast is still waiting for Belle to show up, but Forte claims, “she’s abandoned you!” and feeds Beast’s anger and served him as his mindless slave, trying to persuade him to forget her, he send Beast to destroyed Christmas decorations and the dinner room, trying to persuade him to forget her, but he races out anyway. In his anger, Forte has Beast (being hypnotizing) destroys the decorations in the dining room where Angelique was on his way out, leaving Angelique hopeless. Meanwhile, Belle and the others look for a tree, but Fife accidentally startles Philippe on the ice, creating a chain reaction that leads to Belle nearly drowning and being rescued by the hypnotized and furious Beast.

Belle is locked in the dungeon for breaking her promise, but Angelique visits with the other baubles and admits that she was wrong to believe that Christmas could never come. They all agree that they do not need decorations or gifts to celebrate Christmas; they have each other, which is the best gift they could ever ask for. Meanwhile, prompted by Forte, Beast threatens to destroy the rose, but one of the flower petals falls on the present Belle gave to him earlier. When Forte’s hypnotic spell on Beast is broken, he then remembers the gift Belle gave him, opens it, and reads it. He then realizes that Belle only wants him to be happy (not to mention he must put his past behind him and that his needs come second to others), he ignores Forte, asks her for forgiveness, releases her from the dungeon, and plans to have the best Christmas.

Enraged at the failure of his plans and certain that he will be ignored and eventually forgotten, Forte plans to bring the whole castle down to kill them off, with the rationale that they cannot fall in love if they are dead. This horrifies Fife, who finds it far too extreme, and then he learns that his promised solo is blank. Beast manages to get into the room, but Forte’s powerful music confounds him as he has no idea what to strike at. With Fife’s advice, he unplugs Forte by ripping out the keyboard below him and hurls it with his strength. With the keyboard destroyed, Forte begins to panic and accidentally breaks the support mounts that held him up, causing him to fall over. Beast laments the death of his old confidant. Soon after, the castle was repaired and redecorated. Fife received a royal pardon for his participation in Forte’s crimes and was allowed to join the celebration with Belle, the Beast, and the castle servants. With that, Christmas was celebrated at last.

Still, together they continue to have a happy holiday, which brings us back to the actual party, but of course, if anyone actually saved Christmas, it was Belle. The others celebrate as the Prince gives Belle a gift, a single rose.

WALT DISNEY’S THE MOON SPINNERS.

WALT DISNEY’S THE MOON SPINNERS WAS RELEASED ON JULY 2 1964.

STORYLINE : British musicologist  Frances Ferris (Joan Greenwood) AND HER LATE TEEN NIKKI ( Hayley Mills)

ARE  travelling through Crete  recording GREEK SONGS FOR THE BBC.  usually quiet COASTAL TOWN OF Aghios Georgios THEY manage TO GET A ROOM AT AN INN CALLED THE MOON SPINNERS despite THE PEOPLE BEING BUSY  preparing FOR A WEDDING and no one there, except Alexis (Michael Davis), the young teen son of the proprietress Sophia (Irene Papas), he who is fond of spouting current popular Americanisms in his slightly broken English, seeming to want them there. Frances and Nikky learn from Alexis that the unwelcoming feeling is all because of his maternal Uncle Stratos (Eli Wallach), who has become a man suspicious of anyone ever since his recent return from London after being away for fifteen years. Beyond those there for the wedding, the only other guest at the inn is a young Englishman named Mark Camford (Peter McEnery), who they befriend. Nikky is too preoccupied with her own suspicions and mistrust of Stratos truly to see that there is something more sinister in the feelings between Stratos and Mark. Although they don’t say anything to each other directly on the matter, Stratos knows why Mark is in Aghios Georgios and is always skin diving in the nearby Bay of Dolphins, and Mark knows that Stratos, and by association his other nephew Lambis (Paul Stassino), will be after him if he gets too close to what they have hidden in the bay before their intended method of disposal. By getting close to Mark, Nikky may unwittingly get caught up in what is the very dangerous and potentially life threatening game of cat-and-mouse between Stratos and Mark.—Huggo

  • Start with a fortune in stolen jewels. Add a dash of danger. A pinch of romance. Season with Hitchcock-like intrigue and comic flair. What do you have? A mystery thriller for the whole family. Set against the sun-bleached beauty of the Isle of Crete, the story pits a young English tourist (Hayley Mills) against a wily Greek jewel thief (Eli Wallach). Mistaken identities and perilous escapes — including a nail-biting battle with a windmill — lead the junior-miss detective to a final confrontation aboard the yacht of an eccentric millionairess (Pola Negri) with a passion for priceless gems and pet cheetahs.
  • Young English girl Nikky Ferris (Hayley Mills) and her Aunt Frances (Joan Greenwood) arrive at “The Moon-Spinners”, a hotel on Crete, to a less than enthusiastic welcome. The coolness of the owner is only out-done by the surliness of her brother Stratos (Eli Wallach), recently back from London. But then there is nice English lad Mark Camford (Peter McEnery) with whom to make friends, at least until Stratos and his pal take a shot at him one night. When Nikky helps him hide, she finds the Greeks are after her too.

I LOVE THIS CLASSIC 1960’S WALT DISNEY MOVIE SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH NIKKI, AUNT FRAN , MARK AND ALEXI ARE THE GOOD GUYS STRATUS IS THE BAD GUY I VERY MUCH HIGHLY RECOMED THIS DISNEY MOVIE.
